Bodegas Francisco Gómez is located in La Serrata, between the Sierras del Castellar and El Serruchón. It is located 9 kilometres southwest of Villena, in the Alto Vinalopó region, in the Mediterranean hinterland. The valley itself forms a barrier that marks the boundaries of the property’s 3.500 hectares. The 620 metres of altitude where this Alicante winery is located favours special conditions for the cultivation of vineyards. These conditions do not exist in the rest of the region. That’s why #BodegasFG is a must on the Alicante wine route. Ancient peoples such as Iberians, Celts, Romans and even Phoenicians chose these lands to perfect their crops. In the 18th century archives of the Villena Town Hall there is a record of the existence of a winery on this estate. This is proof of the wine-making and oenological tradition that has survived to the present day.
